Mavs take two from Kansas Wesleyan JV

SALINA, Kansas -- The 3rd ranked NOC Mavs swept a pair from Kansas Wesleyan JV Sunday in Salina, Kansas.

The Mavs (10-3) rallied in Game 1 for an 8-7 win and then won the nightcap 9-1.

In Game 1, Levi Hauter had three hits including a home, double, four runs batted in and two runs scored.  

The Mavs trailed 7-6 until scoring the go-ahead runs in the seventh.

Brysen Williams earned the win from the Mavs' bullpen with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.  He allowed four hits and struck out five.

In Game 2, the Mavs broke a 3-0 game wide open with six runs over the final two innings while Chase DeFillippo, Josh Bumgarner, and Rafael Solano combined for a one-hitter in a 9-1 win.

Barrett Rose and Zach Goodwin had three hits each, Hauter, Bo Charboneau and Matt Minyon had two hits each for NOC.

Hauter and Rose had three runs batted in each.

DeFillippo was the starter and winner for the Mavs allowing no hits and striking out 13 over 5.1 innings.

Gatlin Goodson had a solo shot for the Mavs.
