The 2nd ranked NOC Mavs swept a pair from Kansas Wesleyan JV Sunday afternoon in Tonkawa 9-5 and 5-2.

The Mavs (16-4) outhit the Coyotes 19-11 and had a grand slam from Holden Bartosovksy in Game 2 along with a solo shot from Levi Hauter in Game 1.

In Game 1, the Mavs built a 5-0 lead and after KWU cut the lead ti 5-4, the Mavs scored four insurance runs to hold on 9-5.

Matt Minyon had three hits including two doubles and two runs scored.  Hauter homered and singled while Hayden Priest had two hits including a double and three runs batted in.

Jacob Ellis was the starter striking out eight hitters in three innings.  Carter Hines tossed the final two innings striking out four.

In Game 2, the Mavs trailed 2-0 before scoring five runs in the fifth to win 5-2.

In the fifth, Sam Shank singled and Bryant Bailey walked.  The bases were then loaded as Hauter reached on a fielder's choice.  Geovanni Blackshaw's walk cut the lead to 2-1 setting the stage for Bartosovsky's heroics.  His grand slam gave the Mavs a 5-2.

Jackie Robinson and Kirby Lohrengal then slammed the door each striking out two in one inning of work saving the 5-2 win.

Minyon added two hits for the Mavs.

NOC opens league play Thursday at Redlands at 1 p.m.
