Mavs sweep Murray in regular season finale

Mavs' baseball got a bit of revenge Saturday, sweeping Murray State on Saturday 12-1 and 10-5 on the final regular season series of the season.

NOC Tonkawa (30-25) improved to 10-18 in conference while Murray (29-25) fell to 16-12.  Murray had swept the Mavs last Thursday.

NOC outscored the Aggies 22-6 and outhitting Murray 24-12.

In Game 1, Blake Hubbard allowed just one run over five innings and Josh Bumgarner led a nine hit attack with two hits and three runs batted in.

Matt Minyon and Bryant Bailey had two hits each, both added two stolen bases.  Bryant has 24 steals on the season.

Hubbard struck out four and allowed four hits.

In Game 2, the Mavs jumped out to a 9-2 lead and held on for the 10-5 win.

Bo Charboneau had four hits including a home run and a double for NOC while Holden Bartosovsky, Sam Shank, Hayden Priest, Geo Blackshaw, and Minyon added two hits each.

Jacob Ellis earned the win in relief with four innings of two hit baseball striking out four.  

The Mavs travel to Enid for their first round playoff match-up against Redlands Thursday at 4 p.m. at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
