MENA, Arkansas --  The NOC Mavs dropped a conference openening doubleheader at UA Rich Mountain Thursday in Mena, Arkansas.

The Mavs lost 5-2 and 8-0.

In Game 1, the Mavs lost 5-2 and were outhit 7-4.

Ryan Duncan homered for the Mavs scoring Nate Windle for the lone Maverick runs.

Geovanni Blackshaw had two hits for the Mavs including a double.

Luke Livian allowed four runs on six hits over six innings.  Ayden Page pitched the sixth allowing an unearned run.

In Game 2, the Mavs were held to just two hits, a double by Garrison Brandt and a single by Blackshaw.

Carter Hines started for the Mavs going 3.1 innings.  

The Mavs host UA Rich Mountain Saturday at noon in Tonkawa.
