Mavs split with Redlands in key doubleheader

The NOC Mavs split a pair of conference games against Redlands Thursday holding on 10-9 in Game 2 after losing the opener 7-1.

NOC (25-24) is 8-18 in conference play while Redlands (20-34) is 9-21 in league play.

The Mavs are battling Redlands and Carl Albert for a berth in the Region 2 Tournament in May.  Only one of those three will reach the post season.

In Game 2, the Mavs had a comfortable 10-3 lead before Redlands rallied scoring six runs in the ninth before the Mavs shut the door winning 10-9.

Darian Duhon, Kyson Snelson, and Ryan Duncan had three hits each and seven runs scored from the top of the Mavs' lineup.

Duhon added four rbi's for the Mavs.  Lake Strickland, Cash Jay, and Bo Charboneau had two hits each for the Mavs.

Ethan Louthan went 6.2 innings allowing just two runs.  Carter Hines, Jacob Conner, and Ayden Page covered the final 2.1 innings, Page earning the save.

In Game 1, Redlands scored seven runs in the first two innings and cruised 7-1 over the Mavs.

Luke Livian went the distance allowing seven runs on 12 hits, he allowed no runs after the second inning.

Snelson had two hits for the Mavs who had seven in Game 1.

The Mavs are at Redlands in a key doubleheader Sunday in El Reno at 1 p.m.
