The NOC Mavs rebounded from Thursday's loss to NOC Enid with a 73-64 win over Redlands Saturday afternoon at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
NOC (12-1) improved to 8-2 in Region 2 while Redlands (8-7) fell to 2-7 in league play.
Tyrel Morgan led the Mavs with 27 while JD Ray added 14.
"It wasn't a pretty win, but it was a win," said coach Donnie Jackson. "We did some good things in spots, and I'm proud of the guys for finding a way. Tyrel (Morgan) carried us yesterday. It was a much needed performance."
The Mavs never trailed in Saturday's game but could never put the Cougars away.
The Mavs led 41-33 and then built a 69-49 lead but Redlands rallied to within 69-59 with 2:27 left. The Mavs then played out the string winning 73-64.
Morgan had 11 rebound while Mark Berry added eight. Ray had four assists and Morgan added three steals.
The Mavs shot 43% from the field and 74% from the foul line.
NOC hosts Connors on Monday.
"We have a big game tomorrow against Connors.," Jackson said. "They are a very physical team and have two of the top players in conference. There is a lot at stake in the conference standings so we need to be ready for their best shot."
Connors (10-2) is 6-2 in league play.
