Maverick midfielder Gio Herrera has been named the Region 2 Player of the Year.  Herrera is a sophomore from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"Gio had a great year and an amazing career for us.  He is very deserving of this honor.  He is the engine of our team.  He covers an amazing amount of ground in games.  He is really good on the ball, and his workrate defesfively is fantastic."  Coach Michael DuRoy

Herrera has signed a letter of intent with Oral Roberts University for 2021-22.
