The NOC Mavs lost two games to #5 Butler in the home season opener on Tuesday.

Butler won a pitcher's duel 1-0 in Game 1 and then beat the Mavs 7-1 in Game 2.

In Game 1, starter Lynsey Ailey gave up a solo home run in the fourth and that was all the Grizzlies needed in a 1-0 win.

NOC had one hit, a single by Meagan Bellar.

Ailey was the tough luck loser in the circle allowing just two hits and striking out eight.

In Game 2, Butler jumped on the Mavs early and cruised to the 7-1 win.

Cozee Clark and Karsyn Coleman had two hits each, Clark scored the lone NOC run in the third inning.

Molly Myers allowed two earned runs over four innings, Emma Enderud allowed two runs in three innings.

NOC (5-3) travels to Western on Thursday with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
