The NOC Mavs split a conference doubleheader with Western on a day where 10 sophomores were recognized in 2022.

NOC sophomores include Lynsey Ailey, Meagan Bellar, Cozee Clark, Karsyn Coleman, Morgan Fowble, Megan Hart, Margaret Landes, Aubrey Meyers, Molly Myers, and Jasmine Warriner.

NOC won the second game of the doubleheader 6-2 after dropping the first 4-2.

The Mavs (25-17) are 17-11 and in fourth place in Region 2 with four conference games left.  Western (20-18) is 13-15 in conference play.

In the second game, Meagan Bellar homered and Lynsey Ailey allowed two unearned runs on five hits in a 6-2 win.

NOC scored three runs in the first and third innings and shut down Western after the Pioneers scored two runs in the first.

Haiden Huster tripled and drove in two runs, Jasmine Warriner scored two runs for the Mavs.

In Game 1, the Mavs totalled eight hits but lost 4-2 to Western.

Warriner, Landes, and Huster had two hits each, Huster and Landes had one rbi each.

Emma Enderud allowed two earned runs on nine hits.

The Mavs host #4 Seminole Thursday at 2 p.m.
