Mike Heater is in his first year as an assistant women's coach at NOC Tonkawa.

Heater comes to NOC after spending 19 seasons a head girls basketball coach in Kansas at Satanta, Larned, and South Haven High Schools collecting 250 wins and four KSHSAA state tournament appearances. 

He spent six seasons as a high school girls assistant coach then was a women’s basketball graduate assistant at Div II Bemidji State University.  He spent one more year as an assistant women’s coach at Div II Southwest Minnesota State University before returning to Kansas.

Heater graduated from Emporia State University and earned a Masters Degree from Bemidji State University.  He started his basketball coaching career while at Emporia State as an assistant high school girls coach.
