Northern Oklahoma College Mavs Women's Soccer won a close game over Cloud County Community College (KS) Tuesday afternoon in Tonkawa.

  The 16th ranked Mavs used two first half goals and held on for a 2-1 win over the Cloud women.

  The win improved NOC's record to 3-0.

  The first NOC goal came from sophomore Gifty Ayew Asare who scored her seventh goal of the year on an assist from Denise Diaz in the 15th minute.

  The Lady Mavericks scored what proved to be the game winner in the 41st minute when Aubrey Welker scored on a penalty kick giving NOC a 2-0 lead.

  Keepers Monica Davis and Jo McCray combined to make six saves on seven Cloud County shots.

  Cloud cut the lead to 2-1 in the second half but NOC held on for the 2-1 win.

  NOC travels to Tyler for a 4 p.m. start Friday afternoon.
