The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks women's season is set to kick off Friday at Redlands Community College.
The Mavs return nine players from last year's team led by All Conference midfielder Sofie Joergensen and forward Skylar Yocham. Janet Moreno is another returning starter for the Mavs.
Incoming players that are set to make an impact according to coach Michael Duroy are Rachael Chatterji, Marissa Neil, Milica Bulatovic, Nicole Anderson, and Jaime Rowlands.
"We don't have much depth this spring, but almost every team in our conference has the same issue," DuRoy said. "So, what is normally "coach speak" of having to stay healthy is in this case reality. The strength of our team is our central players so that is good news. I'm really proud of how the girls have handled all the adversity that they have dealt with this school year and I'm excited to see them finally get to play."
The Mavs open at home Wednesday, April 7 at 2 p.m. against Eastern.
