18th Ranked Mavericks Women's Soccer wins again

MIAMI, Oklahoma -- The 18th ranked Mavs topped Northeastern Oklahoma A&M 2-1 in overtime.

The game did not start well for Northern.  NEO controlled most of the play and won every ball that was played in the air.  NEO would get on the board first with a goal in the first half.

Northern started the second half better and played more on the Norse end of the field.  Midway through the second half Sofie Joergensen played a ball to Milica Bulatovic.  Bulatovic shot the ball past the Norse goalkeeper into the corner of the goal to tie the game.  Neither team could score the rest of the way sending the game into overtime.

It didn't take the Mavs long to end the game as Joergensen and Bulatovic would team up again for the game winner.  Once again it was Joergensen passing to Bulatovic for an almost identical goal as the first.

"Our girls are beat up," said coach Michael Duroy.   "Milica, Janet, and Marissa are all nowhere close to 100% and that's only counting the girls that are playing through injuries.  Nancy went down with an injury.  Every time we think it's the end of the injuries another person goes down.  It's making it very difficult to put a competitive team on the field, but somehow the girls are getting the job done."
